Julio Bonet, a Steve May alumni from 6 years back, left Elton’s John’s Rocket Pictures last week and has just landed the stunning job of Development Producer at the newly launched Locksmith Animation. Locksmith is the first dedicated high-end feature animation studio ever created in the U.K., and will focus on creating a long-term slate of CG animated films for the global marketplace.
Led by writer/director Sarah Smith (“Arthur Christmas”) and backed by Elisabeth Murdoch and the fx company, Double Negative (“Godzilla”), Locksmith is set to take on the Hollywood big-boys. Go, Julio. (Julio’s real claim to fame, of course, is providing the voice for the Mankini Gnome in “Gnomeo and Juliet”!)
